Honestly, I was so disappointed at Apple’s new product iPad. It’s not for me. But I realized what market this product is for.
I don’t need this because of battery, size, function. This device is just a big iPod touch. You will need Kindle (or other e-book device), smart phone and laptop. If you don’t want to bring both Kindle and laptop, even after you can compromise with e-book and laptop, iPad is your solution. But I can’t compromise this way. They said “better than the laptop, better than the smartphone.” This is, however, “worse than the laptop, worse than the smartphone“, unfortunately.
This is not a device for those people who own a smartphone, who bring their laptop always, who are reading this article. But I realized that iPad is a device for those people who don’t have their own computers, who need only web and email, who are light user. Of couse, if you have extra money, this is a gorgeous gadget for your living room. It may be sit on your table in front of TV or bedside table or maybe bathroom. lol
It will be a nice gift for your parents, grandparents, or friends who are not familiar with technology. iPad has possibility to bridge the digital divide gap. Especially, for those people who don’t have way to access to the internet from their home, iPad is really good product. By iPad, they can use the internet thorough AT&T network only for $29.99.
After realizing this market, I understood why Apple decided its price so small. iPad will be just wanted but won’t be needed by the people who are familiar with technology and rich, and can be a necessary tool for digital-divided people.

Alot of bloggers are not very happy with this new iPad.There was too much hype over it and lots of blogers got disapointed.Quite frankly, I can actually see lots of the cool potential uses of this gizmo. Third-party apps for making music, games, papers and magazine and FFS books, all sorts of cool stuff, but they just didn’t really sell it right (aside from the books). It feels kinda incomplete

As you said, it’s true that it would be fantastic gizmo once someone makes really good third-party apps. Music-making app sounds that can perform really well, game also, of course. But, you know, if you want to make music seriously you should use Mac, not iPad. More great games will come to Wii, PS3, Xbox or DS. yeah, iPad is kinda incomplete. it’s not for us.

Windowsでいうネットブックに当たるもんですし、個人的にはあながち外れてないと思いますけどねぇ。ネットとメールできればいいっていうユーザにはいいんでないですか？そんな人の方が圧倒的に多いと思いますよ。EeePcとか買うんだったらはこっち欲しいです。
狙いはいいと思うんですが、いつぞやのタブレットPCの用に、キーボードがないって部分でまだ受け入れられない気がします。まだ時代が追いついてないんじゃないかなぁ。

ネットブックには当たらんよ。Jobsはネットブックが大嫌いやからね。あんだけ注目されても作らずに、虎視眈々とiPadの開発をしていた、と。ネットブックの購買層に当ててきてはいるけど、Appleとしては新しいセグメントとして定義してるよ。まぁ結局、キーボードDockなるものもあるがｗ 構成部品としては、一番安いのが売値の半額程度で作られてると予想されてる。粗利率は他のApple製品に比べてだいぶ高い。高いモデルは更に利益率が高い。この値段出せば、ネットブックどころか、安いラップトップ買えるからねぇ。それに、致命的なのはFlashに対応してないことかなー。それは上でかいたdigital-divided people向け製品としても致命的ではあるんだが、普通の人が回覧する動画サイトや企業サイト・商品サイトやら何でもかんでも、Flash無しでは話にならんかったりするページが山ほど。HTML5推進するのはいいけど、ユーザーの利便性が犠牲になってるねぇ、Jobsの崇高な理想の為にｗ
digital-divided peopleに属さない且つネットとメールができればいいっていうユーザーは普通にラップトップを買った方が高性能で安い。使い方も制限されない。という話になるのである。最初のiPod touchが5万近くしたのが、今や19800円から買えるのと同様、iPadもなかなか凄い勢いで値下がりすると思うよ。iPhoneのときのようなライフスタイルを変えるようなイノベーションを与える初速はないけど、ゆくゆくはこういうタッチパネルのデバイスで色んな家電とかを制御する時代になっていくと思うなぁ。あとは病院の初診のときのアンケートみたいなやつとかも、タッチパネルでサクサク。とか。そこら中何でもかんでもタッチパネルディスプレイで埋め尽くされていく時代が来るね。確実に。確かにiPadはその大きな一歩かも。（MSのはその場で足踏みしてただけｗ）あと、現状としてはAmazonに良い刺激が与えられて電子ブック市場の活性化に繋がるのは素晴らしいことだと思う。
